I bought this system a while ago. The price was good, but I wasn’t all that impressed with 800W when all the comparable systems were 1000W. I heard about Sony quality, When I got a chance to listen to the model on display, I found that the sound quality was as good or better than the systems that cost twice as much. We purchased it and have never regretted it. The first thing I did was put in Lord of the Rings. The sound was so crisp and clear that I might as well have been in a movie theater.
Recently, I was thinking I could upgrade to a Bose system. I listened to one on display and I was impressed. I decided to put in Spiderman on my own system and turn up the volume just to compare. Well, the sound quality was virtually identical. I can’t think of a single reason to upgrade. My only gripe is that the receiver is bulky and it has a hard time fitting in my entertainment center. I bought this system for sound quality. I’m not about to spend $800 on a new system just for looks.
I would recommend this product to anyone. Sony is the Toyota of electronics. There’s a good reason why Sony is overpriced. They put emphasis on sound quality before anything else. This was the bottom line least expensive model. It didn’t have any bells and whistles or flash, but the only difference between this and a Bose system was a compact receiver and wireless speakers.
